What are Play! Points?
Play! Points reward Pokémon TCG and video game players for simply doing what they love: playing Pokémon!
For complete details on Play! Points and how they work, visit the Play! Points page.
How can I find Pokémon tournaments or leagues near me?
You can use our event locator to search our database for upcoming events.
This tool can be used to find the tournaments, leagues, or premier events in your area.
There are no Pokémon tournaments held in my area, how are they scheduled?
Pokémon Trading Card Game Tournaments are established and operated by volunteers, not directly by The Pokémon Company International. If there is someone in your area who is at least 18 years old and would like to apply to become a Tournament Organizer, he or she should follow the instructions here.
Tournaments must be run in safe, public locations, such as game stores, community centers, or libraries.
A potential Tournament Organizer should make sure that he or she has a Player ID and is familiar with Pokémon Organized Play event operation policies before applying.
Why isn't there a Video Game Championships event in my region?
As with other Pokémon Championship Series events across the world, locations, dates, and tournament format are subject to change from year to year.
We re-evaluate our programs every year to assess areas where we can improve our events, and we will do so again after each season.
Why haven't I received my Championship Points yet?
The top finishers at certain Play! Pokémon tournaments have the opportunity to earn Championship Point awards, provided that the tournaments are reported correctly and completely.
Players are responsible for checking their tournament history for accuracy. If there is an issue with a player’s tournament history, that player should notify the Tournament Organizer. The Organizer is responsible for working with Pokémon Organized Play to resolve the issue in a timely fashion.
I played in a tournament within the last seven days, when can I expect these results to show up?
Player stats are not updated until events are uploaded. Events are due to be uploaded within seven days of the event date. If your stats have still not been updated after seven days, please contact the organizer directly. If necessary, you may also contact us again if you are unable to resolve the issue with your local organizer.
When contacting the organizer, or Organized Play department, please include as much detail about the event as possible including the tournament ID, event date, location and city and state in your support request.
In addition, in order for many of your stats to appear on your profile page, you MUST have a fully activated and consented Pokémon Trainer Club account and have checked "Yes" in the Play! Pokémon Preferences section of your Trainer Club profile.
How do I generate a Player ID?
To generate a Player ID, please follow the steps below.
- Log in to your Pokémon Trainer Club account on Pokemon.com.
- From the menu on the left-hand side, click Play! Pokémon Settings.
- In the Play! Pokemon Account section, select Please assign me a new Player ID number.
- Review and accept the Play! Pokémon Terms of Use, and then click Submit.
- In the Play! Pokémon Preferences section, you can then select whether you want to participate in Play! Pokémon Programs (and which product your Play! Points should go toward), and then click Submit.
Please note: a Player ID is not required to request a password reset. You only need to enter your email address and date of birth to request a password reset.
How do I add a Player ID to my account?
If you have participated in a tournament or Pokémon League and you have received a Player ID card, you do not have to wait for the Tournament or League Organizer to register your participation! To add your Player ID to your Pokémon Trainer Club profile, just enter your new Player ID and PIN on the Play! Pokémon Settings tab of your Profile page.
Once the Tournament or League Organizer records your event participation, you will see the updated information in My Play! Pokémon Page.
If you are a parent of a child who participates in Play! Pokémon, you will need to add the information for them.
- Sign in to your account and click the name of the child whose Play! Pokémon information you wish to add.
- Click on Play! Pokémon Settings, then enter your child's Player ID and PIN.
- Review and agree to the Terms of Use, then click the Sign Up button.
- To permit your child to receive benefits such as rankings and Player Rewards, you will also need to add a physical address to your child's account. This information will be kept private and used only for contact from The Pokémon Company International.
Some older Player ID cards do not have a PIN on them. They are still valid. If you received one of these cards, enter the Player ID on the Play! Pokémon Settings tab and leave the PIN field blank. Please note that if you do not provide a PIN, you will not be able to add your Player ID to your Pokémon Trainer Club profile until the Tournament or League Organizer has reported your event participation. This usually happens within five to seven days of the event. If you still cannot add your Player ID more than five days after the event, please contact the Organizer who gave it to you for help. If this is not possible, please contact us for assistance.
Why am I required to provide an address and phone number to opt in to Play! Pokémon?
The Pokémon Organized Play Program (Play! Pokémon) requires this data for all participants so that they can be contacted to receive important information regarding any number of special prizes that could be earned such as Scholarships, Invitations or Travel Awards.
In addition, due to the nature and value of prizes that are often earned by members, we occasionally need to contact winners for redemption or tax information.
