What platforms can I play Pokémon Quest on?
Pokémon Quest is available on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android operating systems.
Please note: Save data for the Nintendo Switch version and the smartphone versions are not compatible. There is no cross-save functionality.
Minimum Specifications and Requirements
Apple iOS: iOS 9 or later.
Please note: We cannot guarantee functionality on iPhone 5 or devices not compatible with iOS 11.
Android: Android OS 4.4 or later.
Please note: There may be cases where the game cannot be played due to your device having insufficient RAM (under 2GB), or where you may be able to download the game but it will not function correctly.
Is the game content different between the Nintendo Switch and smartphone versions?
There is essentially no difference in game content, but there may be slight differences in the controls or some displays based on the hardware or device used.
Why haven’t I received the content I purchased?
It may take some time before your purchase is reflected, so please try the following.
- Restart the Pokémon Quest application.
- Restart your device using a stable internet connection.
- Ensure automatic downloads are enabled on your device.
What should I do if Pokémon freeze or stop moving?
If one of your Pokémon freezes or stops moving after using a move in Pokémon Quest, please try the steps below.
- Pause the game and then force-quit the app.
- Reopen the app and resume your expedition.
How do I save and back up my data?
The game automatically saves as you progress.
To back up your data, you need a Backup ID and a Backup Key. You will need to create these before transferring your save data to another device.
How do I transfer my Pokémon Quest save data to another device?
To transfer your save data to a new device, you will need to enter your Pokémon Quest Backup ID and Backup Key on the device you are transferring to. This will transfer your save data from the time you last backed it up. You will need the following.
- The device you are transferring from
- The device you are transferring to
- A stable internet connection

To transfer your save data, follow the steps below.
- Start Pokémon Quest on the device you’re transferring from.
- From the bottom left of your Base Camp screen, select Options.
- From the Options menu, select Backup and note the warnings that display.
- Enter a Backup ID between 4 and 16 alphanumeric characters.
- Select Set to enter your Backup ID.
- A Backup Key will be issued. Please make note of the Backup ID and Backup Key, which will remain valid indefinitely.
- Install Pokémon Quest on the device you’re transferring to.
- From the top right of the title screen, select Transfer Data.
- Enter the Backup ID and Backup Key you were issued from the old device.
Important notes:
- Once you transfer your data, you will be unable to transfer it to another device for one day.
- After a transfer, you will not be able to continue playing on your old device with the same data. If you want to play on your old device, please start a new game.
- If you are already playing the game on the device you’re transferring to, that saved data will be overwritten. We recommend backing up your data as necessary.
Does uninstalling the game delete my save data? If my save data is deleted, can it be recovered?
If you delete the game, your saved data will be deleted as well. If you have never backed up your saved data, you will not be able to restore it. You also will not be able to restore any data other than your save data from the time you last backed it up.
Please note: If you are unable to provide a Backup ID or Support ID, we may be unable to reissue a Backup Key.
