A Pokémon Trainer Club (PTC) account is used to sign in to several mobile apps and games, such as the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online and Pokémon TV. A PTC account is also required to subscribe to our monthly newsletter and track progress of real-world events and tournaments conducted by Play! Pokémon.
You can add a kid to your PTC account by following the steps outlined in "How do I add a child to my Pokémon Trainer Club account?"
A PTC account allows parents to set limits on some in-game features for their kid’s account.
PTC is one of two account systems available to parents to allow their kid to play the popular mobile game Pokémon GO.
For kids to access Pokémon GO, create a PTC account for yourself (if you don't already have one), and while logged in, add your kid as a new child account, which you manage. Alternatively, the game’s publisher, Niantic Inc., provides a different account system called Niantic Kids. For information on Niantic Kids accounts and Niantic’s overall privacy policy regarding children, go to: https://nianticlabs.com/privacy/ - Section 8. Children.
