How do I obtain special event Pokémon from a promotion?

To obtain special event Pokémon or other items from a promotion for Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield:

Pokémon or non-fashion item

Use these steps, along with your code, to receive your Pokémon or non-fashion item:

1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
2. Select Mystery Gift on the X menu.
3. Select Get a Mystery Gift.
4. Select Get with Code/Password, then select Yes to save your game and connect to the internet.
5. Enter your code.
6. Watch as the gift arrives in your game. (Pokémon will appear in your party or your Pokémon Boxes. Items will appear in your Bag.)
7. Be sure to save your game.

Fashion item

Use these steps, along with your code, to receive your fashion item:

1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
2. Select Mystery Gift on the X menu.
3. Select Get a Mystery Gift.
4. Select Get with Code/Password to save your game and connect to the internet.
5. Enter your code or password.
6. To access your item(s), visit the fitting room of any in-game boutique.
7. Be sure to save your game.

Quick Balls

Use these steps, along with your code, to receive your Quick Balls:

1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.
2. Select Mystery Gift on the X menu.
3. Select Get a Mystery Gift.
4. Select Get with Code/Password, then select Yes to save your game and connect to the internet.
5. Enter your code.
6. The Quick Balls should appear in your game and your Trainer’s Bag.
7. Be sure to save your game.

To obtain special event Pokémon from a promotion for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems:

1. Launch your game.
2. From the main menu in the game, select Mystery Gift.
3. Select Receive Gift.
4. Choose the way the special event Pokémon is distributed. For example:
   o Get via Local Wireless—for in-store and at-event promotions
   o Get via Internet—for promotions distributed over the internet
   o Infrared
   o Get with Code/Password—for promotions via a code card over the internet
   If you select Get via Local Wireless or Infrared, you will see the game search for the gift promotion. If you select Get via Internet or Get with Code/Password, select Yes, then select Yes again to connect to the internet.
5. Once the gift is found, Receive this gift? may be displayed, depending on which game you're using. Select Yes if it does.
6. Speak to the delivery person in any Pokémon Center to receive your gift Pokémon.
7. Be sure to save your game.
