When a child who holds an account reaches the digital age of consent in their country or region, that account automatically becomes an adult account and unlinks from its parent account. The account holder’s age is calculated using the date of birth entered when the child account was created.
If the child account still appears to be linked to the parent account, log out and log back in again. This refreshes what is shown and will display the account as unlinked.
After unlinking, the parent account can no longer manage settings for the former child account. The account may still be shown under the original parent account as a historical record of how it was created, but it can no longer be managed by that parent account.
Child accounts become adult accounts and unlink from parent accounts automatically. To comply with regulations, customer support cannot affect this process.
